CIO operative viciously attacked, robbed

A Central Intelligence Officer (CIO) operative KudakwasheMazura was brutally assaulted and robbed of his service pistol by two hitch-hikers.
According to court reports, the incident happened in November at Unki Mine Turn-off along Zvishavane-Gweru Road.
Mazura had offered a lift to Noel Kurura and TawandaGundu.
However, when they indicated to be dropped off, they suddenly turned violent, assaulted the spy and disarmed him.
They fled the scene, a court heard.
A manhunt was launched and Kururawas arrested and a pistol was recovered at his bedroom hut.
In court, he pleaded not guilty and remanded in custody to 4 January.
Gundu is still at large.
