Tournament winners will get $4 million, runners up stand to receive $2 million, semi-finalists ($1.5m) and quarter-finalists will pocket $800,000.
Third-place finishers in the group stage are set to get $575,000 and the bottom side will pocket $475 000.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) signed an agreement with new sponsor, French petroleum group Total.
The oil giant signed an eight-year contract for an estimated amount of a little over one billion dollars.
Zimbabwe, in Group B, will begin their Afcon campaign with a match against Algeria on January 15, before taking on Senegal four days later.
