WATCH: Urban cultivation gains momentum in Bulawayo

Urban farming in Bulawayo is now a growing trend within most families in a bid to stave off hunger.

Since the rains started falling in the city, urban cultivation has gained momentum.

The residents have once again converted some non-developed land such as refuse dumping grounds, abandoned stands and available open areas into agricultural land.

Bulawayo24.com today (Monday) saw dozens of people of all age groups along Plumtree road working on the pieces of land they have allocated themselves to grow the to staple maize crop.

However, the city council normally slash the maize weeks before harvesting.
