Soldier hammer lazy wife with metre long iron rod

A soldier in Mutare, Nicholas Tafa (30) hammered his 'lazy' wife with a one-metre-long iron bar on her left hand for refusing to feed their baby.
The baby was crying at the time.
The incident happen in the early hours of 20 December last year.
Tafa told magistrate Poterai Gwezhira that "Your Worship, I woke her up at around 6am since the baby was crying so she could feed him. The fact that she showed disrespect towards me by refusing to feed the baby is the reason why I assaulted her,".
Tafa pleaded guilty to assault.
Prosecutor, Brian Goto said on the day in question, Tafa woke up at around 5am and started shouting at his wife Regina Chikarawa threatening to kill her because she had refused to leave his house.
He went on to assault Chikarawa with a one-metre-long iron bar on her left hand, Manica Post reported.
Chikarawa sustained a deep cut on the head and was referred to Mutare Provincial Hospital .
