Vendors in Gweru operating from undesignated areas in the central business district are bracing  to square off with council as they are set to be relocated to the  industrial areas.

Also to be affected are commuter omnibus operators which are accused of promoting lawlessness.

According to Town Clerk, Elizabeth Gwatipedza vendors are now now selling farm produce and clothing outside shops and banks to maximize on profits.

"We have put sheds there to protect the vendors and their products from weather conditions. What is left is for the construction of a toilet for them to use.

"Once that is done we are moving them and that is very soon," she is quoted saying by the Chronicle.
