Lack of progress in the drilling of boreholes in the NyamaNdlovu area has irked the Bulawayo city councillors who are concerned that the delay has serious threats for the city.

According to council  minutes  in reference to the refurbishment of existing Nyamandlovu Boreholes, Councillor Silas  Chigora was concerned about lack of progress on the part of Zinwa in the rehabilitation of boreholes.

"The same grim situation had invariably been reported with virtually no progress in the last 6 months. There was need to now escalate engagement with Zinwa on this matter with a view to working out a solution to this apparent stalemate of a situation," reads the minutes.

"Zinwa should be made to shoulder its responsibilities in this regard and the various stakeholders should understand their respective roles in the water
supply matrix. His view was that Zinwa was not pulling its fair share of the load and there was need to agitate for action in this instance."

The council adopted  and recommended the Future Water Supplies and Water Action.
