Man sentenced to 12 years for bedding 12 year old girl

A man from Hwange has been slapped with 10 years jail term for bedding a 12 year old girl after he proposed love to her and she agreed.
Thabani Nkomazana (22) pleaded not guilty to rape charge when he appeared before Hwange Regional magistrate Dambudzo Malunga. The magistrate however convicted and sentenced him to 12 years in jail. Two years of the sentence were suspended for five years on condition of good behavior.
Asked why he committed the offence he apologized that he had been lying when he denied the charge and admitted to having sex with the girl stating that she was his girlfriend.
The prosecutor Bheki Tshabalala told the court that on 10 November 2016 accused met the girl and convinced her to have sex with him.
He repeated the act on 13 November. The offence was discovered when the girl narrated the incidents her sister who discovered that she was bleeding through her private part.
The sister told their mother and the matter was reported to the police leading to Nkomazana's arrest.
