A Queens Park East man will rue the day he beat up his ex-wife for refusing to have sex with him as he was remanded in custody until after Christmas.
Bradley Clayton Ras, whose age was not given but resides at Number 65 Longford Drive in Queens Park East, will spend the Christmas holiday in custody after Bulawayo magistrate Mrs Sibongile Msipa remanded him in custody to 30 December.
The complainant is Ms Bernadette Woodend and the couple has two minor sons.
Ras and Ms Woodend were living in separation.
Allegations against Ras are that last Friday he went to Ms Woodend's place of residence to visit the two minor sons.
He reportedly went away moments later.
The court heard that Ras returned to the house at about 10.30pm and he was drunk.
Upon entering the house, Ras allegedly demanded to have sex with Ms Woodend but she refused.
This did not go down well with him and he reportedly went berserk and entered the sitting room where he started destroying property.
He damaged a room divider, TV set and DVD player, among other electrical gadgets.
The court was told that after that Ras turned on Ms Woodend and started assaulting her in front of the minor children by kicking her all over the body.
She sustained injuries on her back and lower lip.
Two policemen who are tenants at the house restrained the two and immediately arrested Ras.
Mr Dumisani Nyathi appeared for the State.
