Civil servants should not expect 2016 bonuses anytime soon as Government is dead broke, Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Prisca Mupfumira has said.
At the moment, government is lining up meetings on the matter.
According to Mupfumira, she would engage with Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa and Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor John Mangudya on January 25.
"The Government doesn't have money at the moment" she is quoted saying by state media.
"This makes it difficult for us to announce dates. We don't want to make promises that we'll not be able to fulfill as the Government.
"Minister Chinamasa, myself and hopefully Dr Mangudya will meet on January 25 to map the way forward".
Zimbabwe Teachers' Association (Zimta) chief executive officer Sifiso Ndlovu said civil servants were anxiously waiting to be informed about their bonuses.
