President Robert Mugabe is expected back in Zimbabwe on Friday after several weeks holidaying in the Far East.

Mugabe left the country days after the Zanu PF Masvingo conference to embark on his traditional month long  annual leave.

While on leave, he traveled to China and briefly resumed official business in Mali  as he attended an Africa Union engagement.

Bulawayo24.com understands that Mugabe is returning on Friday and a massive welcome reception at the airport is lined up.

In his absence, his deputy Emmerson Mnangangwa caused a stir when he was pictured holding a mug inscribed " I Am the Boss".

That was interpreted as Mngangagwa declaring his stance on  taking over power from  the soon to be 93 years old Mugabe.

In defence of the mug, Energy Mutodi, a businessman who appeared with Mnangagwa in one of the photos said  "Everybody is a boss in his or her own house. Every woman who is happily married calls her husband boss, and it doesn't follow that by so doing, women are telling their husbands to overthrow Mugabe."

Mugabe has declared he wants to live until 100 and rule for life.

This publication understands that Zanu PF supporters plan to print t-shirts inscribed "Mugabe is the real Boss".
