Mawarire's arrest above board - police

The arrest of #ThisFlag front-man Evan Mawarire in Harare on Wednesday was above board as he had a pending warrant of arrest, police have said.
He was picked at the Harare International Airport.
Police spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said "I can confirm that he has been arrested. There are no fresh charges, he has an outstanding warrant of arrest".
His lawyer Harrison Nkomo is quoted saying that Mawarire had been moved to Harare Central Police Station's Law and Order Section charged with subversion.
"Mawarire is being charged with subverting a constitutionally-elected government. He is likely to appear in court tomorrow (today),"he said.
Mawarire was at the forefront of a string of protests last year.
In April of that year, Mawarire posted a video on Facebook attacking state corruption and the government's failure to provide basic services.
He wore a Zimbabwean flag in the video, which led to the naming of the campaign "ThisFlag."
