A Gokwe man aged 44, Loveledge Chuma and his 18 year old niece caused a stir when it emerged that they were living as husband and wife.
The woman, Progress Sibanda ended up falling pregnant, a court heard
The pair appeared before Gokwe magistrate Christopher Maturure facing having a sexual affair within a prohibited degree.
They pleaded guilty.
Chuma was handed a 30 month jail term of which six months were set aside for five years.
On the other hand Sibanda had her six months sentence suspended.
The pair in June last year where staying in the same house.
Chuma proposed and was accepted.
They had sexual relations on several occasions until Sibanda fell pregnant and her mother discovered the affair.
