A 13 year old girl was married off to a 42 year old man by her mother, a court heard.
That attracted trouble for Jeremiah Jerera to be arrested and charged with having sexual intercourse with a minor.
He will spend the next seven months in jail.
The court heard that Jerera was doing a peace job at the girl's homestead when her grandmother told him that she wanted him to marry her granddaughter.
Jerera than asked the girl if she wanted to be his wife, she agreed.
In December, they started having sexual relationship and stayed together as husband and wife.
However, in January police officers got wind of the affair leading to Jerera's arrest.
