A woman from Muzorori Village under headman Gadzingo in Gutu has been slapped with a wholly suspended three-month jail term for breaching a
protection order brought against her by her blind husband Solomon Tavonga Kanengoni (63).

Felistas Dumba is accused of assaulting her husband, locking him up in the house, chatting to boyfriends in his presence and going to musical shows at night leaving her husband alone.

She breached the order and appeared before Gutu resident magistrate, Edwin Marecha on Thursday last week.

It is the State case that Kanengoni started living together with Dumba in 2011 and Dumba was physically and emotionally abusing her husband and
sometime in 2012 she beat him up and left him undressed at Baptist Church car park in front of the Pastor.

She also locked Kanengini inside their house and assaulted him with fits until Jameson Kanengoni his brother came and broke the window to rescue him.

"After all these incidents Dumba started to have boyfriends, going to musical shows like Jah Prayzah's, chatting with boyfriends on the phone in
my presence," said Kanengoni.

Dumba was given protection order to leave Kanengoni`s homestead on January 29, 2017 but she failed to comply.

She then approached Kanengoni and insisted on a negotiation for a settlement of five cattle for the time they spent together.

Dumba went on to insult Kanengoni with abusive words calling him a useless man thereby breaching the interim protection order number DV6/17.

She was given three months imprisonment wholly suspended for five years on condition that she does not within that period commit an offence breaching a court order.
