Zanu PF chief propagandist, Higher Education minister Jonathan Moyo has made astonishing claims that a two day closure of Matabeleland schools to facilitate smooth preparations for President Robert Mugabe's birthday gig in Matopo is 'fake nonsense'
"Plenty of idiots with this fake nonsense.Shame!" he twitted on his official handler @ProfJNMoyo in exchanges with @ali_naka.
"Dear @ProfJNMoyo this is fake as well #Bob93" @ali_naka asked posting a picture of a school memorandum to parents advising them of schools shut down.
Today, Primary and Secondary Education minister Lazarus Dokora issued a directive ordering school to shut down on Thursday and Friday.
Matopos is hosting Mugabe's lavish birthday gig on Saturday.
The closure has been seen as a step closer in Zanu PF led Government in declaring February 21 a national holiday.
Zanu PF youth league has been lobbying for years for such a declaration.
More than 100 000 people are expected at the festivities, Zanu PF officials say.
