President Robert Mugabe has again said he is not giving up power as he has not finished his mission.
Mugabe has been in power since 1980 and has on countless occasions ruled out retiring.
Today, the 93 year old frail looking Mugabe told his birthday guests in Matopo that he is not done yet.
"I ask myself why I am the only one left. I am still alive because I have not finished my mission.
"The mission l have has to do with the interest, needs, demands of the people who put me in the position" he said amid faint applause.
Recently, Mugabe said he will not handpick his successor claiming that evidence on the ground indicated that the majority of Zimbabweans did not feel there was no acceptable candidate at present.
"The majority of the people feel that there is no replacement; (a) successor who to them is acceptable, as acceptable as I am.
"A successor is groomed by the people. Those around you can get the confidence of the people as they operate around you, and gain the confidence of the people, you see" he said during his traditional birthday interview.
