Long standing MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai is not ready to give up power in his party as he is the face of the struggle, a senior party member has said.
According to MDC-T national spokesperson, Obert Gutu, the former prime minister should be given more time to lead.
Tsvangirai has been at the helm of the party since its formation in 1999.
"Tsvangirai is not Mugabe, he is not yet President. He had never imposed himself.
"He's the face of the struggle. Give him a chance" said Gutu this evening in a live @ThisFlag 1980 facebook page interview.
Commenting on his boss health, he said "He's looking far better than he did a few months back."
Tsvangirai is battling cancer and there were widespread calls for him to step down last year when he revealed his health status.
He is currently on a national outreach program.
