ZRP speaks on horrific head-on collision along Bulawayo-Gwanda highway

Zimbabwe Republic Police have confirmed that the truck that was involved in a head-on collision that claimed 14 lives along Bulawayo-Gwanda highway on Thursday morning was registered in South Africa.
ZRP Spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said in a statement this afternoon: "On approaching the said spot, the haulage truck hit a pothole and the driver lost control of the vehicle.
"He then encroached onto the lane of the oncoming vehicles resulting in a head on collision with the kombi."
"Due to the state of our roads, the ZRP is appealing to all motorists to avoid travelling at night and observe speed limits so as to preserve life," said Charamba.
