Manicaland minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Mandiitawepi Chimene has reportedly forced civil servants in Chimanimani to contribute $1 and $2 each to host a party.
Headmasters and teachers in Chimanimani district are being forced to pay $1 and $2 each as donations for the belated party for civil servants in the district, reports quoting a memorandum show.
In a memo circulated to schools, Chimanimani acting district administrator Taona Nengomasha said their donations would make the event a success.
"The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Honourable (Mandiitawepi) Chimene, is holding a civil servants' end-of-year party on March 11, 2017 at Chimanimani Hotel, where she intends to meet and discuss with representatives of various government departments, companies, businesspeople, traditional leaders and non-governmental organisations.
"It is against (sic) the above belated function that my committee has found it modest that each school head in the district should donate $2 each and $1 each for every teacher that would go a long way in making the event a success" reads part of the note.
However, the meeting was postponed until further notice.
