Masvingo Teachers’ College security guard arrested for ‘raping’ student

A security guard at Masvingo Teachers' College has been remanded in prison after he allegedly raped a student at the institution.
Pedzisai Takawira (35) allegedly found a female student and her boyfriend out of bounds on a date not indicated on the State outline. He confiscated the two students' school IDs but allegedly later called the girl to a secluded room near the school dining room and offered back the IDs on condition the two had sex.
Takawira switched off the lights and then allegedly had sex with the complainant once without her consent.
The matter was reported to the complainant's boyfriend and college authorities on the same night leading to a report at Rujeko Police station which saw the arrest of Takawira the following day.
The matter was brought before Magistrate Langton Ndokera with James Murambiza representing the State. The accused was remanded in prison and the case will continue on March 21, 2016.
