A man from Nketa 9 in Bulawayo is in trouble after he defrauded city residents of $15 000 through claiming that he was selling a housing stand.
Isiah Ncube was granted $200 bail when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sibongile Ncube charged with fraud.
He was remanded to April 4.
The court was told that on March 2016 the complainant Professor Ndlovu was at Tshabalala Housing office when he saw a notice that there was a house being sold at $15 000 and he phoned the number which was on the notice. Ncube told him that he was the one selling the house and they agreed to meet and talk.
They went to Ndove and partners where an agreement of sale was signed and Ndlovu paid $8000. On June 19 Ndlovu paid $5000 to Ncube who apologized that he had shown him the wrong house before taking him to another stand in Emganwini. In August Ndlovu paid another $2000.
They later met at Tsvangirai and partners law firm where they were told that a complaint had been received from a registered owner of the stand. Ndlovu reported to the police leading to Ncube's arrest.
