Bottle store and bar owners have been ordered to comply with their conditions of licensing during the Easter holidays or they face prosecution if they flout the regulations.
Police said they will act tough saying violent crimes in the city occur as people come from drinking spots.
According to Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Precious Simango police will be in full force to ensure that liquor shops comply with their terms of registration.
"We want to warn them that police will be in full force patrolling to make sure that bottle stores and bars are in compliance with their licences. Those that will be found on the wrong side of the law will be arrested," Simango is quoted saying by the Chronicle.
