Mashava Police Station which has been entangled in a number of cases where some cops were accused of corruption both in and outside court has seen nine  officers  being  transferred  at once.

Lodwin Chaibva who was the officer-in-charge  has  also  been transferred to Mvurwi Police Station in Mash Central. It is understood that she had appealed for exemption from the transfers allegedly because she is doing some studies but this was not granted.

An Inspector only identified as Phiri who is replacing her is understood to have already gone to Mashava for a station visit and Chaibva has also done the same. Some of the officers were actually accused of allegedly taking bribes in court.

Recently Zimra impounded a truck that contained smuggled goods but was never taken to court as the investigating officers were said to be unwilling to open a docket.

Chaibva was not taking her calls. National Police Spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba said she was at a funeral when The Mirror contacted her for a comment on Tuesday.

The  nine  officers  were  transferred to stations scattered all over the country.

The nine are Sergeant Honest Nemadziwa (crime) to Murambinda, Sergeant Majoti recently transferd from Chivi to Chimanimani, Constable Lasten

to Hwange, Constable Mukumbareza Dorowa, Constable Masango to Zhombe, Constable Razaru to Tsholotsho, Constable Mhuri to Figtree and Constable Nhachi (operations) Dete.
