Mkwasine man dies from snake bite

A 23-year-old man from Mkwasine died after he was bitten by a snake while chasing away a monkey from a sugarcane field last Sunday.
The type of the snake is not known.Jelousy Remhunga who was a farm worker for Simon Mashate died in an ambulance on his was to Masvingo after he failed to get oxygen gas at Chiredzi Hospital.
His employer Simon Mashate confirmed the incident and said Remhunga was guarding a sugarcane field from monkeys on Sunday morning.
He said he saw a monkey which had crossed into the field and decided to run after it and that is when he was bitten by a snake which he only saw when it was too late.He was buried in Bikita on Sunday.
