Gang raids Beitbridge police officers’ house

A three men gang raided two Beitbridge Police officers' homes and stole from their vehicle while they were sleeping.

Beitbridge magistrate Langton Mkwengi heard the case when Dean Dhlela (20), Clemence Mujunga (30) and Witness Mabhogo (31) appeared before him charged with two counts of theft.

The court heard that on May 1 this year Stephen Sheshe a police officer stationed at the Minerals and Border Control Unit in Beitbridge parked his  car in the yard before going  to sleep.

The three  broke into the car and stole property such as laptop, soccer boots and kits.

On April 30 they broke into another police officer's vehicle after he parked it in the yard.

They stole his driver's licence, National Identity card, bank card, Nyaradzo funeral policy card and motor vehicle registration book.



The total property stolen worth $135 and some of it was recovered from the suspects following their arrest. On May 4 the detectives were tipped about  the three's criminal activity and they pounced on them.
