A Morningside resident lost his teeth after being allegedly bashed by a Hillside man at the Barbourfields Stadium during the abandoned Dynamos-Highlanders match last week over a debt of $500 he had failed to pay back.
Priviledge Makuvire (30) denied the assault charge when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya who further remanded him for a trial.
The court was told that on May 14 this year at 5pm, Makuvire met Collen Chiwara (38) of Morningside at the stadium and demanded the $500 Chiwara owed him.
Before Chiwara could respond, Makuvire pounced on him with clinched fists, hitting him on the mouth resulting in a loss of two upper teeth and weakening the others.
Makuvire and his friends later dragged Chiwara to the toilets where they further assaulted him.
They later searched him and took his $1,000 and a Samsung cellphone worth $150.
Chiwara reported the incident to the police leading to Makuvire's arrest. The stolen money and property were not recovered.
