Five former employees with the Hwange Local Board has filed an application suing their former employer over unfair labour practice after he was ditched without terminal benefits.
They filed the application at the Bulawayo High Court citing his former employers.
On behalf of his colleagues, Thomas Mujima said they registered a case of unfair labour practice with the labour court on October 18, 2016, to do with nonpayment of terminal benefits and outstanding salaries.
"The matter was set down on February 14, 2017 and an order was issued on April 5 by Justice Mercy Moya Matshanga compelling the respondent to pay one-third of the balance of each applicant within 60 days of receipt of the order and thereafter pay monthly salaries to each applicant at the end of every month until debt is discharged. The respondent has not complied with the labour court order," reads the founding affidavit.
"I believe the remedy for this situation lies with the registration of this order by this court."
Hwange local Board is yet to respond to the application.
