Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) co-vice president engineer, Elias Mudzuri has blasted the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) for allegedly shielding ZANU PF thugs who reportedly burnt his Duriro bar in Harare on 18 July.
In an interview with Bulawayo24.com Mudzuri denounced the police for failing to arrest the hooligans who set his bar ablaze citing that the area is closely monitored by Surveillance control system next to his bar.
"The ZANU Pf police do not want to investigate the matter because if they really wanted to arrest the culprits they would just visit the surveillance control system which is just next door.
"I recall sometime back when council pipes were stolen around this area it did not take them day to arrest the thugs using the system, so politics is overriding justice here," said Mudzuri.
Mudzuri said someone anonymously told him that his bar had been torched hence he found the police from Mbare station already on the scene scouring for clues but Harare Central took over the matter.
Police spokesperson, Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba could not be easily reached for comment.
However, Duriro bar is still in existence and patrons have vowed to continue flocking the place despite thuggish behaviour by his haters.
