TWO money-loving lovebirds were last week arrested at a local hotel after being found in possession of dangerous drugs which they intended to sale.
The duo was lucky to get away with bail in their initial appearance at the Bulawayo magistrate courts when the presiding magistrate Tawanda Muchemwa made them part with US$100 each for their interim relief before trial.
They were both charged with contravening section 156(1) (c) of the Law Codification and Reform Act 9:23 (dealing in drugs).
According to state papers at hand, Eunah Sithole (34) residing at A451 Njube and co-accused Zivanai Dzinomurumbi (45) in Bulawayo arranged to meet at a local hotel were they were going to do their illicit business.
Unknown to them, detectives from the Criminal Investigations Fraud were aware of their unlawful trade after receiving a tip off from an anonymous member of the public and laid an ambush for the drug-peddling lovers.
Upon arrival at their place of trade in a flashy Mercedes Benz, the two started sorting their merchandise.
At the same time, the state papers say, the detectives were watching them.
The detectives immediately pounced on them, ordered Zivanai out of the car and searched him. They discovered 12 tablets of ecstasy with a street value of $60.
When detectives searched the car they discovered 5grammes of cocaine which Sithole had hidden. The drug had a street value of $200.
