A MAN from Mzilikazi in Bulawayo has been slapped with 9 months effective jail term for possession of mbanje.
Nkosikhona Ncube (21) pleaded guilty to mbanje possession when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Tinashe Tashaya.
The magistrate convicted and sentenced him to 12 months in jail. Three months of the sentence were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
The court was told that on August 5 this year police officers were on patrol in Makokoba when they saw a juvenile in possession of mbanje.
The boy told them that he got the drug from Ncube. A raid at Ncube's place led to his arrest and recovery of 3 cobs and 3 sachets of dagga all worth $600.
