A GOOD Samaritan from Bulawayo's Emakhandeni suburb is battling for his life at United Bulawayo Hospital's intensive care unit after he was stabbed with a knife by man who he had tried to stop from attacking his friend in a bar.
It is alleged that on 28 January this year Timilo Nkomo (21) was at a bar in Emakhandeni when his friend was involved in fracas with Ellerman Govere(22) who wanted to fight him.
It is alleged that Nkomo tried to stop the assailant from attacking his friend.
This did not go down well with Govere who produced a knife and stabbed the complainant on his hand, stomach and near the shoulder.
He is now recovering in the intensive care at UBH after he sustained three deep cuts due to the attack.
The accused was then arrested by Luveve police.
He was not asked to plead when he briefly appeared before Western Commonage court magistrate, Mr Shepherd Mjanja for assault charges.
He was remanded in custody to 14 January 2011.
Mr Fanuel Chokuda represented the State.
