Man assaulted by wife's boyfriend

A MARRIED MAN told the court that he was brutally assaulted by his wife's boyfriend.

Morgan Mulauzwa told the court that he sustained serious injuries after he was battered by his wife Cinderella's boyfriend only identified as Edmore.

Morgan narrated his ordeal at the Harare civil court where he was brought by Cinderella who was seeking a protection order against him.

"On January 18 the man who is having an affair with my wife attacked me and left me with these scars after I had asked him why he was having an affair with my wife," said Morgan showing the magistrate his bruised hands.

He went on disclosing to the court that he started having problems with his wife when he lost his job.

"Everything was ok, problems started when I lost my job. That was when she started communicating with this man I am talking about," he said.

Meanwhile, Cinderella was accusing Morgan of physically and emotionally abusing her.

"I am being abused by this man, he comes home drunk and starts to beat me up, and he has been insulting me with vulgar language many times," she said.

Magistrate Renikah Dzikiti, who presided over the case, granted the protection in Cinderella's favour much to Morgan's dismay.
