A man from Pumula South in Bulawayo is in trouble after he pounced on a Cowdray Park resident and robbed him of property worth $65.

Brian Dube (28) was not asked to plead to robbery when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sithembiso Ncube.

The magistrate remanded him out of custody on $60 bail to November 2.

The court was told that on October 19 this year at 5:15am the complainant from Cowdray Park was walking along Lobengula Street and met the accused and one Nothando Tshuma along the way.

The accused pounced on the complainant and forcibly took the complainant's mobile phone. Efforts to plead with them to return it were fruitless.

The complainant alerted the police leading to Dube's arrest.

Value of stolen property is $65 and nothing was recovered.
