CHIEF Chiduku of Makoni district in Manicaland says women should never be allowed to occupy leadership positions because they have got a biblical history of being "irresponsible".
"Recent events have put women leadership on the spot light. In the Bible, we have examples of Adam and Samson who went astray because of the influences of two women, Delilah and Eve. These examples clearly indicate that women are bad influences," said Chief Chiduku.
Women's Coalition of Zimbabwe described the Chief's remarks as a sign of a patriarchal society indicating that how many men have messed up in top positions but they are not painted with the same brush?
"Is this the general consensus in the country? How far does this leave us from achieving the 50/50 we constitutionally desire?" said the coalition.
