The First Lady, Auxillia Mnangagwa has pledged her dedication towards uplifting the lives of vulnerable children in the country.
A mother concerned with the lives of her children, the First Lady took time to play, feed and listen to the children at Thembisa Children's Home in Bulawayo as she shared some Christmas goodies putting a smile on their faces.
The hundreds of children were drawn from various homes around the city.
Mnangagwa said she will work closely with institutions that advance the interests of children to ensure that every child has a decent home, receives education and above all has their rights upheld.
She also donated goodies to all the children's homes and urged Zimbabweans to remain united for economic prosperity.
Speaking at the same event, the Minister of State for Bulawayo Metropolitan Province, Angeline Masuku appealed for the opening of industries in the city, while calling for a solution to the Ekhusileni hospital which has been lying idle for some years now.
In response, Mnangagwa assured the residents that she will relay their concerns to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Ekhusileni Hospital has remained a white elephant some 11 years after it was ready to be operational.
