A Ngoboyenja family is up in arms with a leading businessman in the transport sector after their daughter's corpse was found at his house in Hillside (Bulawayo) with her breasts cut and also with some injuries on the head.
The deceased, Tsitsi Mandikutse (27) who worked as a domestic worker for the businessman is alleged to have been found dead in the swimming pool in the wee hours of Monday.
The family claimed that she had a deep cut on the head and her breasts had cuts as if someone had tried to remove them. One of Mandikutse's cousins who spoke to this publication on condition of anonymity said as a family they would never buy the story that Tsitsi drowned.
"We are not fools that we can be made to believe that Tsitsi drowned in the swimming pool because she had some injuries as she was first hit with something on the head and no one knows why someone who is said to have drowned would have such wounds on her body, including on the breasts. We are suspecting that she was killed and later drowned into the swimming pool as a cover up. If she had drowned, then she should not have sustained any injuries," said the visibly bitter cousin.
She revealed that they suspected that Mandikutse died a very painful death and as a family they would make sure that her spirit 'fights back' and whoever was responsible for her death will face the consequenses.
"You would not understand anything about her death. As a family we knew that Tsitsi worked at the flea market, but now we are being told that she was a domestic worker, how she got here, no one knows. The other domestic worker claims that she heard Tsitsi screaming for help in the middle of the night but she did nothing and that raises some eyebrows. We hope the law will take its course," she said.
The bus operator, who however does not live in Bulawayo, confirmed that there is a worker who died at his house.
"It's true that one of my workers was found dead after drowning at the deep end of the swimming pool. I have also heard the rumours that are going around but the truth is that she dived into the deep end of the swimming pool," he said.
The police could not be immediately available to shed light on their investigations.
