Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai on Monday told mourners in Bulawayo that he is losing potential voters through death at a faster and alarming rate.
He was attending the burial of Masotsha-Ndlovu Senator Enna Chitsa (MDC-T), who died last Friday morning due to diabetes and low blood pressure.
She was buried at Lady Stanley Cemetery, three graves away from another senator, Gladys Gombami.
"I say to you Chista family am the one who has greatly lost with the death of your mother. A potential voter for me is gone" said Tsvangirai who is set to contest forthcoming presidential elections against President Robert Mugabe.
Tsvangirai and senior MDC-T official including its deputy president Thokozani Khupe and speaker of parliament Lovemore Moyo attended the burial.
Khupe said the death has robbed the party of good leader.
Chitsa's death comes two months after the party lost its Mabutweni (Bulawayo) Senator Gombami.
Chitsa is survived by three children, two sons and a daughter.
Her husband, Never Ncube, died in February 2007.
Chitsa joined the MDC at its formation in 1999 and was elected Bulawayo provincial chairperson before her election as Senator for Masotsha-Ndlovu in March 2008.
