A heavily pregnant woman from Insuza in Matabeleland North had to endure a 18 kilometer walk to a clinic only to give birth to triplets in space of 15 minutes.
Esanat Sibanda of Ntobi village only found a nearest clinic at Mbembesi last Thursday.
She now has six children to take care of together with her unemployed hubby Mpiliso Sibanda. They are now appealing for donations.
Last Thursday, Mpiliso left her wife to look for a donkey drawn cart to take her to the clinic. But she decided to walk alone.
She had no transport fares, a $2.
" I woke up in the morning and walked to the clinic where I arrived at 11am. I was feeling pain in my uterus as l had travelled a long distance" she is quoted saying.
With the clinic only three kilometers away, labour pains set in. Villagers realized that she was about to give birth in the bush and rushed her to the clinic.
She said she was in labor for from 3 pm and after 15 minutes she delivered all her children.
