MDC launches Information and Media Centre

The Movement for Democratic Change led by Professor Welshman Ncube advised that it is keenly aware of the need for information to be readily accessible to all citizens, it says its is further committed to making sure that the new media and information technologies such as internet are accessible to all Zimbabweans.
In light of this the party will on Tuesday 27 March 2012 launch the first I.T driven information and media centre in Bulawayo at the party's Bulawayo headquarters. The centre will provide accessible internet to all its members new and old, students and researchers.
"It is the objective of the party that this centre will go a long way in enhancing academic research and be an added tool to many of our young people in colleges and universities who need to access the latest information for their examinations and general course work in an educational environment where books and support material has been laid thread bare by years of lack of investment in the education sector," read a statement from Welshman Ncube's MDC.
"We believe the centre will bridge the information gap in a country where decades of unfair and unjust rule that has curtailed media freedom, media access and diversity of news," added the statement.
