Ncube declared liberation war heroine

Tholakele Ncube, who died on Monday, has been declared a liberation war heroine.
She was 51.
Ncube did her secondary education at Northlea High School in Bulawayo before joining the liberation struggle in Zambia in 1977.
She did her military training at Mkushi Girls camp in Zambia.
In 1981, she was integrated into the Zimbabwe National Army.
Ncube, who was a warrant officer class two, retired from the army in 1999.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert Dezousa and five children.
Mourners are gathered at house number 25 Fleming road, Southerton in Harare.
Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
