Bulawayo man viciously attacked for calling friend's mother a whore

A 52-year-old Japhet Mhlanga sustained serious body injuries after his drinking mate assaulted him for saying his mother was a prostitute claiming that Jesus 'was born by a prostitute'.
However, the accused Zibusiso Sibanda convinced magistrate Richard Ramaboea that he lashed his friend for his blasphemy remarks out of anger.
He was fined on $50. The Western Commonage court heard that Mhlanga and Sibanda had in January shared beer a drink. On their way to home Mhlanga insulted Sibanda.
'He told me that my mother was like Jesus's mother Mary who was a prostitute which meant that I was also a son of a prostitute," said Sibanda.
That led to Mhlanga being assaulted sustaining serious injuries. In response Mhlanga did not deny saying the remarks. However, the court did not seek to establish which Jesus the two where referring to.
The name Jesus is now common in South American countries.
