Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai on Wednesday toured a toilet project in the Nkulumane suburb in Bulawayo and said legislators who fully accounted for the controversial Constituency Development Fund should get more funds in the next tranche.
Currently, legislators are given $50 000 to spearhead development in their respective constituencies.
Touring Nkulumane constituency under Thamsanqa Mahlangu, a member of his MDC-T party, the premier said he would advance a proposal to be given more money.
"This is just my thinking…I would propose that MPs who fully account for their CDF should be given more," he said without making estimates.
MPs have also called for more funds to be availed under the CDF.
Tsvangirai was opening a toilet at a new school in Nkulumane. The tour was initially schedule for Tuesday but was postponed to today (Wednesday).
Four legislators were arrested early this year on allegations of abusing and failing to account for their CDF allocation.
