Visiting Zambian President Michael Sata on Friday prevented his Zimbabwean counterpart Robert Mugabe from falling during the official opening of the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair in Bulawayo.
Mugabe and Sata were walking at the ZITF main arena, the venue of the official opening, when he tripped on a concrete block was held by the Zambian president as he was about to fall.
The incident was not witnessed by many people as members of the central intelligence organisation quickly surrounded the aging Mugabe.
However, were it not for Sata, Mugabe would have fallen on the ground as the state security agents had maintained a bit of distance from the two leaders.
Meanwhile, two people collapsed during the ceremony and had to be whisked away by an ambulance on standby.
A male security guard, manning a trophies table meant to be awarded to the best exhibitors was the first to fall on the ground then another woman collapsed.
After the security guard collapsed, the police took over guard of the trophies table.
