Bulawayo Fire Brigade workers attending to a Emakhandeni burst Zesa Sub-Station in Bulawayo
A Zesa sub station in EMakhandeni suburb in Bulawayo burst into flames at lunch time sending workers and residents fleeing for safety.
The burst occurred shorty after 1pm.
"There was a huge burst at the station and it's still in flames. Zesa workers who were at the site ran for dear lives," said a witness.
"The sound of it was as if there was a plane crush," she added
Update: No ZESA official was injured in the sub-station burst but suburbs close to Emakhandeni are now without electricity
