Man jailed for stealing $3 000 burial society money

A Bulawayo man has been sentenced to two years for stealing more than $3 000 belonging a residents' burial society.
Brian Jabulani Mboyi of Mzilikazi suburb was convicted for stealing $3 559 from Federation Burial Society where he was secretary.
However, Bulawayo magistrate Merlyn Mutshina suspended eight months of the sentence on condition that Mboyi repays $1 986 to the society.
allegations are that The court heard that between June and December 2010, Mboyi received $1 591 in subscriptions but deposited $749 tothe society's account and embezzled $842.
It was further revealed that between February and December last year Mboyi received $2 909 and only deposited $1392 and diverted $1 517.
Mboyi also received $1 200 that he converted to his use.
