The trial of two Home link Private Limited company workers in Bulawayo who were tortured by detectives in an investigation involving theft of $107 774 has been moved to 22 May to allow them to recover from the beatings at the United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Security guard Khumbuzo Gumbo, intern teller Sydney Ndachengedzwa were picked by police on 30 April who later set dogs on them in the course of the brutal investigations.
The two initially appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Sherpard Munjanja who remanded them in custody to 17 May on $500 and $300 bail respectively.
The case was further moved because the two were not yet ready to stand trial.
Their lawyer Munyaradzi Nzarayapenga confirmed the next date for the case.
Last Friday the lawyers filed an application for referral of the torture case to Supreme Court indicating that their clients rights were grossly violated.
