Bulawayo East MP Thabitha Khumalo has hit back at her critics over her remarks on sexual issues, saying it wastime cobwebs of ignorance were eliminated and challenged the Press to help demystify sexual issues.

The outspoken MDC-T legislator has triggered debate with suggestions which her critics have described as outrageous.

She has suggested that prostitution be legalised, advised married women to befriend their husbands small houses (mistresses) to harness the spread of sexually transmitted diseases and described female condoms as drums, not good enough to have quality sex.

Khumalo, who is the regional and international country representative on HIV issues, told journalists at the Harare Press Club on Friday that whenever women commented on issues to do with sex and HIV, they were ridiculed and given names such as uncultured, queen of bling, prostitute and other nasty labels which was not the case with males.
