MDC MPs in Bulawayo misuse funds: BURA

The Chairman of the Bulawayo Residents Association, Mr Winos Dube has taken a swipe at the 12 MDC-T and MDC-M members of parliament in the province, for not coming out in the open on the use of the US$50 000 constituency development fund.
The government allocated all members of parliament US$50 000 to develop their constituencies in the 2009–2010 budget with most of the funds being deposited into the MPs accounts by December 2010.
Mr Dube said it is disheartening to note that MPs in Bulawayo take it upon themselves to decide on the use of funds without consulting stakeholders, a sign that the money would have been used in corrupt ways.
He said residents are challenging MPs to formulate committees within to discuss transparent ways to use the funds for community development.
