Former minister Enos Nkala, a man widely accused of spearheading Gukurahundi massacres has said his hands are clean as he has not killed anyone in his life.
"I have never killed anybody in my life, I do not have blood in my hands but if people who were working with me were killing people I confronted them and would tell them of the accusations," said Nkala.
More than 20 000 people , mostly Ndebele speaking in the Matabeleland and Midlands are said t have been butchered by the brutal Fifth Brigade deployed in the provinces in pursuit of perceived ex-Zipra cadres.
Nkala said he saved the late Vice President Joshua Nkomo from being assassinated.
"I wish Nkomo was alive. There were plans, I believe to assassinate him, I contacted him ti get out and he went to London.
"I had to verify the facts and found out that the President, who was alleged to have wanted to kill Nkomo actually did not want to do so, he had received unconfirmed and uncorroborated information.
Nkomo fled to London in 1983 via Botswana.
