Bulawayo Governor Cain Mathema has insulted the city saying it is full "cry babies" who just complain but lazy to revive the city.
"We are tired of the people of Bulawayo who complain about the economy but don't do anything to revive it," said Mathema who is also Zanu-PF deputy national spokesperson.
He said the business sector in the city will not revive when its residents sit back and complain about the current economic situation.
He also said people should stop talking of being marginalized.
Mathema has also called for the take over of closed firms by government.
Countless industries have closed in the city due to lack of working capital as owners say they are denied loans by financial institutions.
Last year, Vice President John Nkomo also branded Bulawayo residents as lazy but late denied ever saying that.
